The Pennsylvania Applied Linguistics Consortium (PAALC) announces the 2010 Graduate Research Symposium, to be held January 22-23, 2010 at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA. The purpose of this research symposium is to encourage graduate students from universities in the state of Pennsylvania to interact with fellow researchers in applied linguistics, to share their interests, to generate ideas, and to receive feedback from peers and experts in their areas of research. The agenda for the symposium includes individual paper presentations and small group discussions. Graduate students from PAALC member institutions (Carnegie Mellon, IUP, Penn State, U Penn, Pitt, and Temple) are encouraged to submit proposals for presentations focused on areas including, but not limited to:
Each presentation will be allocated twenty minutes, with an additional ten-minute period for discussion/questions. Proposals can be submitted individually or as a team. However, in an effort to include as many representatives as possible from different universities in the Consortium, presenters are allowed to submit a maximum of one proposal as first author.
